BS OHSAS 18001:2007 provides requirements for the workplace health and safety management system to manage any risks to the life or health of employees and other stakeholders, as well as to constantly improve the safety of all processes conducted by the organization. The organization must at the same time plan, prepare and organize its processes in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations in the area of safety and health.
The OHSAS 18001 specification is compatible with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 to facilitate the integration of all three systems in a single integral management system for organizations that choose this option.
The system’s policy must include targets relating to constant workplace health and safety improvements, depending on the identified and planned risks. Targets relating to workplace health and safety must be established and maintained at all relevant functions and levels within the organization and measurable wherever feasible.
